Nottingham Trent University (NTU) เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยรัฐที่เน้นการทำชิ้นงานวิจัย ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี ค.ศ. 1843 ภายใต้ชื่อ Nottingham Government School of Design ซึ่งยังดำรงอยู่จนถึงปัจจุบัน เป็นสำนักการศึกษาที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดของมหาวิทยาลัย

เนื่องจากทางมหาวิทยาลัยให้ความสำคัญในแง่ของทรัพยากรบุคคลและสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกต่อการดำรงชีวิต จึงได้มีการลงทุนกว่า 350 ล้านปอนด์เพื่อพัฒนามหาวิทยาลัยให้มีการสนับสนุนการเรียนและการใช้ชีวิตประจำวันที่ก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดต่อนักศึกษา เช่น มีการจัดตั้งหน่วยงานย่อยภายในมหาวิทยาลัยที่ทำหน้าที่ให้คำปรึกษาด้านการเงิน ให้การดูแลสุขภาพกายและสุขภาพจิตของนักศึกษา และการสนับสนุนผู้พอการ นอกจากนี้ยังมีการจัดกิจกรรม workshop ให้นักศึกษาได้ลงมือทำตลอดทั้งปีอีกด้วย

Nottingham Trent University ตั้งอยู่ที่เมือง Nottingham นี้ถือได้ว่าอยู่ใจกลางสหราชอาณาจักรเลยก็ว่าได้ มีการคมนาคมขนส่งที่สะดวกสบาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นรถไฟ เครื่องบิน หรือว่ารถบัส การเดินทางจาก London ไปยัง Nottingham ใช้เวลา 2 ชั่วโมงโดยรถไฟ และเดินทางจาก Birmingham 1 ชั่วโมงครึ่งโดยรถไฟ เมือง Nottingham มีขนาดใหญ่ จึงเต็มไปด้วยสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกมากมาย เช่น ห้างสรรพสินค้าชั้นนำ ร้านอาหาร ซุปเปอร์มาร์เกต และอื่นๆ มีการคมนาคมที่สะดวกสบายเป็นอย่างยิ่งไม่ว่าจะเป็น รถราง รถเมล์ มีสถานีรถไฟ และสถานีรถบัสใหญ่อยู่ใจกลางเมือง

- Clifton Campus เป็นแคมปัสที่มีขนาดใหญ่ ห่างจากเมือง Nottingham ประมาณ 6 กม. ประกอบด้วยศูนย์กีฬา ห้องสมุด หอพักนักศึกษา นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นสถานศึกษาของสาขา Arts and Humanities, Science and Technology และ Education
